This Boston stair project made of solid and veneer rift white oak, was modeled in Rhino and the complex rail components were cut on a 5 axis CNC machine. All the stair sections were prefabricated in the Hardwood Design shop and then set in place in the field. In spite of the simple clean design, this was an extremely challenging job because all components and sections had to align perfectly with no moldings to cover joints.
